Area 51 unveiled a stunning new show at the Ricoh Arena, bringing a vibrant explosion of colour, hedonism and the pulsating samba beat of Rio to life. A frenetic fusillade of Brazilian festivity, “Rio Inferno” is the latest creation from Area 51 and already looks like being a spectacular success. Based on the globally renowned phenomenon of carnival from the beaches and streets of Rio de Janeiro, Rio Inferno is a cavalcade of colour, zest and energy: an irresistible combination of stunning costume, décor and a tantalisingly wide array of entertainers.
And the show enjoyed a perfect launch, wowing more than 10,000 party-hungry punters who swarmed to Coventry’s huge sporting arena for a series of sold-out dates.
The 51 design team came up with an eye catching series of props and installations which transformed the venue into a vibrant arena to house the Latin feast of fun and to huge acclaim.
Eye-catching Brazilian dancers feature throughout together with capoeiristas and samba drummers. And for a show that has the word “inferno” in its title, audience members can, of course, expect to see breathtaking fire performances co-ordinated and executed by experts in their field.
Aerial silk performers are an important part of Rio Inferno and as you would expect with this kind of show, costumes and décor are essential. Elaborate and impeccable costumes that combine a blaze of colour with glitz, feathers and sheer exuberant style
Rio Inferno is a fully scalable show that can be adapted for all types of venues, indoors or outside.
