PREVIOUS PROJECTS

HAMMING IT UP AT SILVERSTONE

Area 51 helped bring a flavour of the Balearic party scene to Formula 1’s British Grand Prix staged at Silverstone. The company created a special “Ham-former” robot stilts character, a hybrid of the popular A51 Transformer and a Lewis Hamilton bobble head, which caused a storm among race fans

HATS OFF TO J HUS!

UK rapper, J Hus, demanded high-quality production values when he staged his first ever London show. The centre-piece had to be a white 5m-wide bucket, recreating the cover-photo theme from his hit album, Common Sense

FORMULA 1 BOBBLEHEADS

Caption / alt text: Racing ahead – Area 51 sculptured 3D caricature heads for Formula 1 drivers Max Verstappen, Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Riccardo and Valtteri Bottas. In the vast crowded venues of F1, create a range of eye-catching, identifiable caricatures who will stand out and be greeted rapturously wherever the F1 races are held

JAX JONES GOES LARGE

Originally commissioned for the video of his hit song ‘Breathe’, Jax Jones’ big bobblehead had to be instantly recognisable. It also needed to be customised for the BRITS Awards with a mic inserted into the head and a speaker system that was worn on a chunky gold chain around his neck. This enabled him to conduct interviews with the world’s press before the evening’s proceedings began.

BLACK SITE – THE MOVIE

It was a case of going underground and tunnel vision as Area 51’s creative crew were summoned to help with the shooting of a much-anticipated supernatural sci-fi thriller movie.

THE CONJURING 2

Area 51 executed a real-life recreation of an iconic scary movie scene for special guests at the preview screening of The Conjuring 2. Ahead of the release of the supernatural horror sequel, The Conjuring 2, wanted to set up an unforgettable spine-tingling experience for celebrity guests, the media and Warner Bros representatives.

ED’S UP ON CREATURE CHAOS!

Initial sightings placed the lithe creature in southern Wales where it managed to stow away on board a 747 airliner bound for Florida in the USA but it has also been spotted in Oklahoma and Las Vegas. More recently, additional sightings have been made in Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Chile and Argentina.

SCISSOR SISTERS COLLABORATIONS

American disco-glam group, Scissor Sisters, regularly team up with Area 51 to help create stunning show costumes and props for their extravagant live performances

LADY GAGA AT THE ROYAL VARIETY PERFORMANCE

Lady Gaga demands originality and quality. One of Area 51’s most high-profile creations is her surreal spider piano, which amazed guests at the Royal Variety Performance – as well as TV viewers worldwide. The American pop star wanted to descend to her key-board from theatre’s fly-tower on a suspended piano stool, wearing a red PVC outfit featuring a floor-length cloak together with an Elizabethan styled collar.

AREA 51 ROCK WITH DEVIN TOWNSEND

They had the music, script, the idea for the most out-there storyline synthesised by the genius that is Devin Townsend and narrated by the Legendary Steve Vai, however, they needed one more piece of the puzzle, to seek out production company that had the tools to bring this show to life. They found their target and honed-in with laser precision onto Area 51.
