JAX JONES GOES LARGE

Originally commissioned for the video of his hit song ‘Breathe’, Jax Jones’ big bobblehead had to be instantly recognisable. It also needed to be customised for the BRITS Awards with a mic inserted into the head and a speaker system that was worn on a chunky gold chain around his neck. This enabled him to conduct interviews with the world’s press before the evening’s proceedings began. The bobblehead was first sculptured in clay at Area 51’s Warwickshire workshop to form a 3D caricature of Jax Jones’ facial features. It was then molded and cast in high-density foam. Once painted, its hat was custom-made to add the finishing touch.

THE BRIEF:

Originally commissioned for the video of his hit song ‘Breathe’, Jax Jones’ big bobblehead had to be instantly recognisable. It also needed to be customised for the BRITS Awards with a mic inserted into the head and a speaker system that was worn on a chunky gold chain around his neck. THE BUILD:

The bobblehead was first sculptured in clay at Area 51’s Warwickshire workshop to form a 3D caricature of Jax Jones’ facial features. It was then molded and cast in high-density foam. Once painted, its hat was custom-made to add the finishing touch.

Nominated for ‘British Single of the Year’, Jax Jones posed for pictures on the red carpet and the integrated voice system enabled him to speak to BRITS presenters, Professor Green and Maya Jama. Jax Jones was so impressed with the creation that he commissioned an additional bobblehead.
