HARRY POTTER

Initially created for a university students’ ball, the client wanted guests to walk through a smokey corridor to the Great Hall at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It should come complete with dozens of ethereal flying candles, stone walls, giant fireplaces and ghostly apparitions. Here the Sorting Hat will guide you and your guests into your chosen Hogwarts houses, whether Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. After studying the film version’s scenes and settings, we designed and built décor to epitomise a wide range of key locations to create the desired atmosphere.

THE BRIEF:

Initially created for a university students’ ball, the client wanted guests to walk through a smokey corridor to the Great Hall at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It should come complete with dozens of ethereal flying candles, stone walls, giant fireplaces and ghostly apparitions. Here the Sorting Hat will guide you and your guests into your chosen Hogwarts houses, whether Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw.

THE BUILD:

After studying the film version’s scenes and settings, we designed and built décor to epitomise a wide range of key locations to create the desired atmosphere.

Now, depending on your venue size, you can add a window-shopping walk down Diagon Alley, relax in Hogwarts library or mix your own love potions in the mystic cauldrons. There is even the chance to magically disappear through the brick wall on Platform 93/4 at King’s Cross Station, as Harry Potter did.

Area 51 can now also provide interactive key characters to add to Hogwarts’ magic, including Harry Potter, Hagrid, Prof Dumbledore, Prof McGonagall, Severus Snape and the wand seller, Mr Ollivander.
