OSTRICH RIDERS

Area 51’s giant ostriches are among our longest established and most popular characters, and for good reason. The sight of the world’s largest avian strolling around, with talkative safari explorer at the reigns, provides an unbeatable comedy moment.

A festival regular, this curious pair has also delighted crowds at a range of other events, from weddings to zoo events, clubs to corporate dos – it seems its popularity has not yet peaked…

Alternative riders available include our “TIKI” costumed characters, snow explorers, elves, or even chimps, or Jockeys, making them extremely easy to have adapt to any theme.

STEAMPUG

STEAMPUG We like our puns at 51 – so we very much approve of this chap! Apparently, this human/dog hybrid came about as a result of a failed quest to perfect the first human teleportation… a bit like The Fly, but with fluffier results. As a result, our dog-faced doctor now produces all manner of infernal contraptions to help in his new obsession: the quest for the world’s largest bone; apparently one that belonged to a dinosaur (don’t tell him it will have turned to stone by now). Featuring cameras fitted to their helmets broadcasting what they see directly to their own TV screens, the Intelly Gents (and ladies!) can switch between live images and pre-recorded footage that plays on another channel. But there’s no end to the flexibility of these characters and they’ve successfully appeared as DJs, initially making their light-hearted debut at the world-renowned Glastonbury Festival. The Intelly Gents form an integral part of Area 51's robot and LED range of entertainers. Hyperdrive engaged, they've performed on behalf of MTV Russia, at Bestival, Sci-Fi Weekender and even in Richard Branson’s back garden! DIGI DEMON

DIGI DEMON Another showpiece Digileg character, our lifelike Demon will tower over trembling onlookers! Highly detailed and completely custom made in our workshops, the Demon’s ungula hooves are built around the company's sensational Digilegs technology. It has resin horns, a realistic foam latex skin. The overall effect is truly devilish and diabolical... This fantasy creature is a regular at Jonathon Ross's famed annual Halloween bash! But the Demon does not travel alone; the character's specs mean it needs a suitable dressing room to apply the costume. For best effect we recommend this character is booked alongside one or two of our Digileg fauns – perfect for any fantasy event.
