THE BRIEF:
Staging your daughter’s wedding day in the grounds of your own home is a tall order for any family. Everything has to be just right. When a Midlands company executive and his wife wanted to pull out all the stops for their daughter’s big day, they turned to Area 51. They chose 4 large interlocking modern tepees to seat their 130 guests. However, they wanted the interior theme to be vintage to reflect the rural character of the conservation village where they lived. Their aim was to ensure the wedding day had a personal touch and the décor and organisation were thoroughly professional.
THE BUILD:
We sourced a variety of vintage props from antiques and retro-chic shops to dress the interior, which we furnished with a range of wooden stands as feature focal points. Each point was a rural still-life, incorporating travel chests, ropes, an old bicycle, a tin bath, vintage lamps and a selection of family photos. Faux foliage festooned the tepee support poles. We also built three bars at key locations within the tepee complex. Area 51 staff were also on hand to ensure the entire event ran smoothly and to look after the guests.
