AREA 51’s now legendary Caravan Of Lost Souls laughed off monsoon rain conditions to storm one of the UK’s most celebrated rock festivals.
A large sized crew of freaks and entertainers from the company, and under the guidance of the wayward Igor Rasputin, descended on Castle Donington for the Download festival and, despite torrential downpours, rocked the event with aplomb.
Joining Rasputin’s band of sodden-yet-psychotic sidekicks were the fakir duo of Eve and Baldini and a cavalcade of other oddities and miscreants together with a walkabout team of stiltwalkers and other performers who gave valiant displays daily throughout the weekend-long rockfest.
Among the main attractions at the festival were Def Leppard, Slipknot, Slayer, Tool, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, the Smashing Pumpkins, Whitesnake and Eagles Of Death Metal.
