Psycho sideshow squad The Caravan Of Lost Souls set tongues wagging and eyes popping at the 2019 Glastonbury Festival. Igor Rasputin’s crew of freaks mixed surrealism, circus skills and fakir shows with out and out weirdness to make the festival one of the strangest and most entertaining yet as steampunk and chap hop star Professor Elemental teamed up with the crew in style.
Professor Elemental and Igor Rasputin unveiled oodles of dark cabaret throughout the festival including sword swallower The Great Bendini plus Alberto and Rodrigo from Mexico performing the duo cyr wheel and a whole array of other left-field performance artists. Hubertus Wawra, the Master Of Hellfire, made the trip from Germany to also star as part of the crew.
Instead of the caravan’s usual pop-up spontaneity, it was fixed on-stage for 2019 as part of an Area 51 take over of “A Little More Sensation.” The collaboration between Rasputin’s caravan and Professor Elemental provided the perfect alignment of the peculiar and the peerless.
Elsewhere, Area 51 sent fire performers to dazzle punters in the cabaret field at the festival and burlesque performer Carmen Monoxide was provided by the company to host the Sensation Seekers stage.
On top of this, Area 51 artists also appeared on stage with acclaimed band, Henge.
