AREA 51 BRINGS GLITTER TO A FESTIVAL OF DANCE, DISCO & DELERIUM
There’s something rather irresistible about a summer day or two devoted entirely to house music, disco and happiness! And Daresbury Festival has rapidly established itself as one of north England’s favourite boutique celebrations of exactly that philosophy.
Set within the picturesque surroundings of Walton Hall & Gardens in Cheshire, Daresbury has become a gathering place for what its organisers rather wonderfully describe as a community of disco dreamers, house lovers and glitter-dusted dancers.
The 2025 edition was another sell-out success, attracting more than 7,000 music lovers.
And adding a little extra sparkle to the proceedings was Area 51.
A TOUCH OF AREA 51 MAGIC
Area 51 supplied a lively team of performers for the festival in June 2025, bringing together dancers, circus artists and larger-than-life characters to complement the music and add another dimension to the experience.
Among the performers were specialists in circus skills, including hula hoop and acrobatics alongside Area 51’s spectacular Peacockettes – glamorous, dazzling performers whose striking costumes and energetic choreography fitted perfectly into Daresbury’s colourful house-and-disco aesthetic.
The Area 51 crew wasn’t confined to one particular corner of the festival either. Performers appeared across the different stages during the event, creating those unexpected encounters and visual moments that can transform a music festival from simply somewhere to hear great music to somewhere to experience great music!
And for those looking for a little more luxury, Area 51 also brought their talents to the VIP lounge, providing more ambient entertainment away from the main stages.
DANCING WITH GROOVE ARMADA
The 2025 musical line up was certainly no lightweight affair.
Headlining was Groove Armada, alongside an impressive collection of house and disco heavyweights including Roger Sanchez, David Morales, Craig Charles, Greg Wilson and Graeme Park.
Area 51 performers even joined many of the acts on stage including Groove Armada to add a burst of live visual energy to the performance and demonstrating Area 51’s ability to integrate seamlessly with major musical acts rather than simply providing entertainment around the edges.
It was a natural fit: infectious dance music, colourful characters, circus skills, glamorous performers and thousands oof hedonists in the mood to party.
SMALL FESTIVAL, BIG RESPONSIBILITY
Daresbury may be described as a boutique festival, but its ambitions are anything but small.
The event has grown rapidly since its launch, selling out successive editions and attracting major names from the international dance music and disco scenes. Its combination of a beautiful setting, carefully curated music and a strong emphasis on atmosphere have helped it develop a distinctive identity of its own.
For Area 51, it represents exactly the sort of environment where live performance art can enhance a musical experience without overwhelming it.
A dancer appearing unexpectedly beside a stage. A circus performer creating a visual spectacle between sets – or indeed during a set! A Peacockette adding a hearty splash of glamour. Performers mingling with VIP guests…
Small interventions can make a big difference.
At Daresbury, happiness may be on the playlist, but Area 51 just loves to make it visible!
