HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE

The horsemen of the apocalypse may be seen by some as a terrifying sign from the Bible of the impending “end times” but here at Area 51 these eerie equestrians are easily among our favourite characters.

And although they may be the physical incarnations of the forces of man’s self-destruction, 51’s postilion of pestilence, dragoon of death, rider of famine and jockey of famine are a joy to have appear at any shindig, large or small… but really come into their own on Halloween.

FEMALIENS

FEMALIENS Truly other-worldly, these ethereal characters feature incredibly detailed armour and elaborately carved LED wings, together with a foam latex alien head. Totally designed and built in house (of course), we’ve pushed the boat out to design something uniquely different, and very magical with the new Femaliens. They are a perfect blend of fantasy and futurism and perfectly suits a variety of themes. Featuring cameras fitted to their helmets broadcasting what they see directly to their own TV screens, the Intelly Gents (and ladies!) can switch between live images and pre-recorded footage that plays on another channel. But there’s no end to the flexibility of these characters and they’ve successfully appeared as DJs, initially making their light-hearted debut at the world-renowned Glastonbury Festival. The Intelly Gents form an integral part of Area 51's robot and LED range of entertainers. Hyperdrive engaged, they've performed on behalf of MTV Russia, at Bestival, Sci-Fi Weekender and even in Richard Branson’s back garden! Apparently, this human/dog hybrid came about as a result of a failed quest to perfect the first human teleportation… a bit like The Fly, but with fluffier results. As a result, our dog-faced doctor now produces all manner of infernal contraptions to help in his new obsession: the quest for the world’s largest bone; apparently one that belonged to a dinosaur (don’t tell him it will have turned to stone by now). GENTLEMEN CHIMPS

GENTLEMEN CHIMPS Captured in the wild some years ago, these provoking primates have been trained to act human, although it doesn't always quite work out as it did during their cultivation process! These champion chimps are often seen scurrying around venues, sniffing out anything interesting, picking fleas off people and scratching themselves in inappropriate places. They are a very comical and interactive act and work brilliantly as meet and greet, walkabout, or even angle grinding! If you book a few of them they can even have a tea party. If you want to up the ante’ certain members of the troupe can be booked as a World class acrobatic act – and this often finds its way into our larger Circus performances. DUCKS

DUCKS Waddle catch the eye and fit the bill for any event that needs something special? In one foul swoop this eye-catching gaggle can provide an ‘inducktion’ into beak-performance art! This fluffy flock can rival Donald, Daffy, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Daphne, Daisy, Count Duckula, Scrooge and Orville and keep their feathers well-oiled for a variety of uses. There are a number of ducks available and they’re perfect for avant garde walkabouts, flash mob PR stunts (they can turn up anywhere and hassle people for bread or, if you prefer, just simply go quackers) and can also do bizarre stage dance routines. For club stage shows the ducks can even launch giant “golden egg” balloons into the audience for “egg-stra” fun factor (sorry!).
