DAY OF THE DEAD

A tribute to Mexico’s celebration of life and to honour the dead, The “ Day Of The Dead” is the festival that began with the Aztecs some 3000 years ago.

Día de Muertos is a public holiday in Mexico celebrated at the same time as Hallowe’en but has since become renowned throughout the world and Area 51 have produced a Day Of The Dead collection to stun audiences.

Borrowing the iconic sugar skull character design that’s come to symbolise the global phenomenon, 51 have given a highly decorative alternative to the darker themes normally associated with Halloween events.

In fact, it’s a style that we often successfully incorporate into other themes and genres as it looks so stunning.

We can provide traditional characters, or mix into something altogether more unusual as required – such as our Day of the Dead and Alien hybrids.

KING KONG

KING KONG Behold, the Eighth Wonder of the World! And Area 51’s King Kong will drive you ape. This gigantic gorilla has been an Area 51 staple for a long time but remains one of the company’s most requested creations. It’s not hard to see why – at an impressive nine feet tall and almost as wide, having this amazing ape gate crash an event is a truly unforgettable sight. King Kong can come with his very own customizable stage show. Unveiling the beast in the traditional way can be arranged but the character is perfectly equipped to skip that and just go on to become a meet and greet attraction. A ringmaster can also be added to the package to help keep him from scaling local skyscrapers! Due to his size and manoeuvrability, King Kong may not be suitable for all venues – please enquire for more information. Although not actually on stilts, the Yeti is nine-foot-tall and six-foot-wide, so he might as well be! Boasting jointed mechanical construction, this is an incredible outfit: We’d say, pound-for pound, our most popular character - especially with the ladies who just love to hug the huge teddy bear. The yeti is especially effective when used with a handler and is superb when accompanied by a team of snow-bound bonkers mountaineers. TIKI

TIKI A now globally recognised tribal troupe, Tiki quickly became our most in-demand costumes ever and is growing in esteem every day. Real genre-spanning creations, they blend post-apocalyptic, Polynesian and Steampunk into a unique and distinctive style. Entertainment options are almost infinite for these characters – it’s been such a success that it’s even had its own Circus created – TIKI - which ran for 8 weeks in Hyde Park, and has appeared as far away as Atlantis Hotel Dubai. Area 51’s bouncy-stilt duo is a popular specialist act in the collection and their routine really has to be seen to be believed.  Fire spinning acts are - of course - almost mandatory, but easily replaced by Glow spinning acts, so all venues may benefit. To fully enjoy these characters, a make-up artist is recommended.
