Igor Rasputin revamped his infamous Caravan Of Lost Souls for a children’s audience as part of Twycross Zoo’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

And re-sculpting the kooky caravan into a family-friendly entertainment freak show for all was hailed a success as the spectacular Area 51 show was lauded by public and zoo staff alike during the milestone event at the Midlands attraction.

The zoo houses more than 650 animals and staged a week-long series of vintage themed events to mark its golden anniversary including a visit by Maasai warriors from Kenya’s Rift Valley.

Twycross is a world-renowned primates centre and Area 51’s troupe of chimps seemed more at home there as they accompanied a number of acts who performed mime, juggling, music, fire performing contortion and more.
