AREA 51’s creepy Caravan Of Lost Souls rubbed shoulders with some of metal’s heaviest heavyweights as Britain’s biggest hard rock hoedown exploded at Castle Donington. Igor Rasputin and his band of weirdos stormed the Download Festival alongside the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Ozzy Osbourne, Avenged Sevenfold, Marilyn Manson and Bullet For My Valentine.
Among the performers on display with the Caravan were Daniella DeVille , Big Grey, Eve, Baldini, Luke Harries and Bill Brookman.
Whipping newspapers out of people’s hands with a bull whip, balancing scimitar swords on a dagger protruding from the mouth, swallowing razor blades, lying on a bed of nails while someone stands on your chest, human chimps causing havoc and spectacular fire skills…. were just some of the usual unusual antics on display from the team of circus freaks unleashed by the Caravan ringmaster, Igor Rasputin.
Area 51’s large team of performers also worked the three-day annual festival with walkabout routines to entertain festival goers.
