Area 51 converted the heart of England into Halloween central with a long running series of “spooktacular” events that left thousands of party-goers chilled.
Visitors to the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Warwickshire were given a horrifying Halloween experience to haunt them thanks to terrifying interactive Area 51 shows.
The company created a number of unique fright experiences so that each year’s event would be different from the previous and utilising its eclectic skill sets, combined stunning prop making and décor with excellent performance artistry and innovative show creation to wow audiences.
From creating a realistic biohazard laboratory teeming with mutant zombie soldiers to allowing visitors into a circus of horrors and from staging a surreal Stephen King influenced reworking of the Brexit story complete with a grotesque Boris Johnson character morphing into a Pennywise clown to terrifying walk-through experiences for punters, Area 51 pulled out all the stops to provide something frightfully new on each occasion.
In the dark woods situated between Fillongley and Meriden in North Warwickshire, Area 51 worked closely with the Heart Of England Centre to develop the “spooktacular” show year after year.
One of the strangest shows was undoubtedly Brexit when Halloween party animals caught up in the contemporary tale of the UK’s exit form Europe were given the fright – and the laugh – of their lives!
With political division splitting the country, Area 51 re-imagined Brexit with a zombie government and equally poked fun of both sides of the Brexit divide in front of hundreds of revellers with a chilling Wicker Man twist.
“Brextremists” and zombie “remaniacs” abounded as partygoers arrived at the entertainment location in north Warwickshire “of their own free will” to be guided through a scare maze and a chilling experience that produced screams and howls of laughter in equal amounts.
As punters arrived on Brexit D-Day, 2019 – which coincidentally turned out to be October 31, they were transported by train into the woods to be told THEY would be sacrificed Wicker Man style on the altar of Brexit while the distorted strains of the “Jerusalem” hymn remixed with excerpts from the Wicker Man soundtrack, brought goosebumps.
The ghastly Prime Minister Boris Johnson character roared into view on a zip wire while holding union flags, harking back to the time when Britain’s political leader became stuck hanging from a similar contraption in central London.
A Theresa “Maybot” monster and a noisy group of axe-wielding “remaniac” zombies protesting against Brexit added terror to the experience.
Throughout the years of creating Halloween shows at the venue, Area 51 unleashed legions of monsters, zombies, ghouls, witches and axe-wielding monstrosities on the paying public while a wide variety of performers such as stilt-walkers, fire breathers, interactive mix and mingle acts and musicians were also involved.
