Area 51 partnered with Scare Projects to take the art of Halloween horror entertainment into cutting edge clubland.
Working on several events together, they helped give clubbers the creeps, with riveting scenery, special FX, scary mood lighting and a collection of ghoulish performers in tow.
Transforming an old bus depot into a haunted house of horrors at an exclusive party event in the heart of the East Midlands was one of the achievements of this tie-in.
Area 51 transformed the Secret Party Project Halloween hoedown at the old Barton’s bus depot in Beeston into a spectre-tacular scare-fest of monster proportions, creating a six-minute walk through attraction for guests at the entrance to the shindig.
Screams rang out as each guest had to move through the depot among a collection of vintage vehicles and along a 50-metre-long underground tunnel of terror before reaching the actual party event which featured three rooms of bangin’ house music served up by an impressive array of DJ talent.
The following year a creepy corps of “corpses” from Area 51 caused more mayhem at the annual bash.
Every guest entering the warehouse party had to endure a chilling walk-through experience to reach the dance-floor, passing through a zombie-infested collection of vintage buses parked at the entrance.
With a crowd of crazed creatures emerging from the shadows and from hidey-holes located in the “scaremaze”, there were screams and laughter aplenty.
On a separate occasion, Area 51 and Scare Projects joined forces in Liverpool for another hugely successful Halloween event.
On this occasion, Area 51 remodelled the popular Camp and Furnace club by the banks of the Mersey into “The Baltic Asylum,” a harrowing ‘hospital’ where inmates had been kept locked up behind doors for decades.
And revellers out celebrating All Hallow’s Eve were given the opportunity for a never-to-be-forgotten tour of the facility’s most disturbing rooms, guided by a maniacal doctor sporting a blood-soaked tunic and fixed stare.
Punters were led into the fray up a winding staircase at the club venue. During the 20-minute-long walkabout experience in the dark, guests met with the ghastly sight of a plethora of patients, most of who were screaming and making threats while attempting to break-out of “The Asylum.”
Brilliant and stomach-churning décor and props were installed at the venue by Area 51 creatives for the show which was staged nightly for a fortnight and a team of performers from the company were on site to bring the tale to life.
