While much of the world was busy wrapping presents and braving winter weather, Area 51 was helping create unforgettable festive celebrations in some of the most beautiful lo cations on Earth.
Across the Maldives and Seychelles, the company delivered its largest-ever Christmas programme of entertainment, supplying world-class memories for revellers in more than 13 luxury resorts throughout the festive holiday period. From intimate beachfront performances to spectacular gala dinners, glamorous parties and events under the stars, Area 51 helped bring festive magic and joy to thousands of guests celebrating Christmas, New Year and Orthodox Christmas over December and January in paradise.
RECORD-BREAKING SEASON
The holiday period marked the busiest Indian Ocean season in the company’s history, with approximately 250 hand-picked performers travelling from all over the world to take part in an extraordinary programme of events.
Working across multiple islands and resort destinations, Area 51 coordinated an exceptional roster of talent, including musicians, dancers, aerialists, circus stars, magicians and cabaret artists drawn from some of the most acclaimed productions and stages on the planet.
Each resort required its own unique blend of entertainment, with personnel appearing at a wide range of different celebrations and luxury hospitality events throughout the period.
WHEN FATHER CHRISTMAS ARRIVES BY JET SUIT
One of the more remarkable and more memorable moments came at the One & Only Reethi Rah resort courtesy of British inventor and entrepreneur Richard Browning, creator of his famous Daedalus Flight Pack Jet Suit.
Often described as a real-life Iron Man, Browning made what may well have been the most spectacular – and certainly – the loudest – arrival of Father Christmas ever witnessed.
The sight of Santa descending from the sky via jet-powered flight pack provided an unforgettable festive moment for guests and perfectly captured the ambition and imagination behind the season’s sensational programme.
WORLD CLASS TALENT
The programme featured performances from internationally-recognised acts including Flawless, whose spectacular street dance shows have earned worldwide acclaim since their breakthrough on TV’s Britain’s Got Talent.
Alongside headline performers, Area 51 delivered a vast range of specialist entertainment to ensure every resort enjoyed a distinctive festive period with programmes fully tailored to its guests and surroundings.
