Question: What happens if you bring together the UK’s largest indoor winter music festival at one of the nation’s best loved holiday resorts with the warped wit and wisdom of Area 51?

Answer: a”Twstd”triumph in tomfoolery and tip-top euuphoric hedonism!

The 2017 edition of the Twstd Festival held at Butlin’s popular holiday resort on Skegness’ blue flag sandy beach had a circus theme and with Area 51’s global reputation in this area, the company was called up to help transform the event across three main hubs and stages in the Lincolshire complex.

And the event saw all sections of the Area 51 team getting involved, from the design and installation of spectacular decor and scenery through to unleashing a team of 50 world-class performers to wow party goers gathering for a feast of electronic dance music.

It was a case of ‘Xcess All Areas’ as Area 51 introduced a number of mind-melting and interactive stage shows while giving each of the three venues breathtaking makeovers in a number of different circus-related themes.

Dancers, contortionists, aerialists, jugglers, fire breathers, stilt walkers, pole dancers and other circus specialists appeared on stage and as walkabout performers across the resort’s three venues across two weekends with the Area 51 team working through the night to make sure Twstd was a banging success.

The visual impact of the company’s brilliant stage and set design decor together with the performers themselves combined to huge success.

Two giant bird cages bookended the Skyline stage where guests included the likes of Lethal Bizzle, Majesty, Riton, Wideboys, DJ EZ, Jamie Duggan, Charlie Tee and Jay Funk and other features included pole dancers and fixture for aerial performers to show off their stunning skills.

Over at Reds venue, Area 51’s much-loved Caravan Of Lost Souls scenery was used to decorate the setting and further decor was sited at Centre stage.
