And Cirque Berserk proved to be a huge success at the popular annual Winter Wonderland event.

Zippo’s regular collaborations with Area 51 have become a justified must-see event on the London calendar – and the number of shows increased to cope with demand with a staggering 150 performances in total for the hard-working cast!

The theme was deconstructed fairy tales with a narrative derived from the darkly twisted and slightly menacing stories of the Brothers Grimm, revved up with high octane, nitrous fuelled, ballistic motorcycle fury.

The result was a dominatrix style, whip wielding ring-mistress with attitude and her troupe of chimp acrobats challenging the Dark Riddler!

This was an internationally cast show, including Brazil’s Lucius Team in the aptly named, “Globe of Death”.

Area 51’s reputation for eye-popping décor work was further enhanced thanks to the circus foyer which was transformed with a fairy tale frozen forest installation.

The Caravan of Lost Souls provided a suitable backdrop for proceedings, and a fitting soundtrack was created while the cast was handed suitably dark attire to complete the package.
