Scissor Sisters are a cut above the rest on stage thanks to a long-standing association with Area 51.

The American disco-glam poppers regularly team up with art design specialists at the entertainment think tank to create stunning stage show costumes and props that have helped forge the group their global reputation for extravagant and controversial live performances.

Among the works produced for the group Area 51 came up with some giant caricature dolls of each band member while a series of gargantuan London Beefeaters were designed and manufactured for the group's appearance at the BT River of Music Festival outside the Tower of London.

The larger-than-life Beefeaters joined Ana Matronic, Jake Shears, Babydaddy, Del Marquis and Randy Real on stage during the climax to the group's riotously-received show when they performed 'Music Is The Victim' as an encore.

Standing at nine-feet tall, the characters were based on the historic Yeoman Warders who are the ceremonial guardians of the Tower Of London.
