The sun, moon and 51 were all in conjunction as performers used the grand spectacle of the solar eclipse as part of their show at the acclaimed sixth Sci-Fi Weekender staged at Hafan y Mor holiday village in Pwllheli, North Wales.
A partial solar eclipse - said to be the most impressive seen from the British Isles since 1999 - provided the cue as the opening performance by the Area 51 crew began in earnest.
This year they produced an inspired dance routine based on the popular Hellboy cartoon theme - with guest appearance by specialist costume creator Ian "Chef" Sparrowhawk. Also featured was a reworking of part of the successful 51 production of 'Lost in Wonderland' which had debuted at the Ricoh Arena a few months earlier. Mechanika also made a much-lauded appearance on stage while illusionist Caspian staged a very well received performance as well as The Devil Without by Ian Harvey Stone. Area 51 performers also provided walkabout and fire performances.
