Festival fever!

Late summer festival fever is gripping Area 51 as staff and performers gear up for a sizzling September in England!

This week sees a sizeable posse of performers heading south to the Isle of Wight to take part in the brilliant Bestival followed by next weekend's exciting Zoo Project festival held in Kent.

And the Area 51 crew is already starting to gather at the leafy Robin Hill Countryside  Adventure Park near Newport on the Isle of Wight as the award-winning Bestival begins. Running until Monday September 10, Bestival is now widely acknowledged as one of the world's most eclectic and endearing independent festivals.

Brand new costume creations from the company will make their bow during this year's Bestival Carnival Parade on Saturday afternoon and as this year's event has a wildlife theme, revellers can expect to see a head-turning collection worn by the Area 51 posse.

Motown giant Stevie Wonder is the headline act at Bestival this year at the head of a thrilling bill that also includes the likes of Florence & The Machine, New Order, Sigur Ros, The XX, Bat For Lashes, The Horrors, Soulwax, De La Soul, Inner City, Orbital, Friendly Fires, Two Door Cinema Club, Gary Numan and much more besides.

As well as the parade performance artists from the Warwickshire company will take part in a number of shows during the festival including a King Kong show on the Al Fresco stage which also features a short spot from Jackir The Fakir. A Beauty & The Beast show by Area 51 will also take place on the Al Fresco stage and walkabout characters will be seen throughout the country park on all days of the event.

After Bestival grinds to a halt, the Area 51 team travels east along the south coast to pitch its tent metaphorically at the Zoo Project festival which is being staged in Hythe, Kent at the impressive Port Lympne Wild Animal Park.

This event, which has been imported to the UK from its original Ibiza base, is a nine-stage festival featuring DJs from across the world playing out in front of thousands of clubbers in the stunning wildlife park with punters encouraged to dress up in animal costumes to enjoy the most cutting edge electronica and dance music around.

Area 51's sizzling new animal costumed characters will be in attendance along with the company's giant Aslan, the King Kong show and a 20-strong team of performers.
